Officer Bryan Anderson and K-9 Reno model one of two brand new bulletproof K-9 vests donated to the Glendale Police K-9 unit Nov. 6 by Glendale’s American Legion Post No. 29.
Each vest, manufactured by International Armor Corporation, is valued at approximately $850.
“They are top of the line,” Anderson said. “Like the vests the officers wear, they have a life of about seven years; however, because of the Arizona heat, they recommend replacement after five years.”
The Glendale Police Department has four patrol dogs, two narcotic dogs and two bomb dogs.
